How to use Base64 to image

Base64 to image decodes a Base64 data URL back into a downloadable image. Paste a string that starts with data:image/png, jpeg, webp or gif followed by ;base64, and the tool previews the picture and saves it as a PNG, listing its width, height and size. Spaces and line breaks inside the Base64 are ignored.

  1. Paste the source into the input editor, or load the built-in example.
  2. Check the source format before running the operation.
  3. Run base64 to image, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a Base64 string to an image?

Paste the complete data URL, including the data:image/...;base64, prefix, into the input and run the tool. The image is decoded, shown as a preview and offered for download as a PNG.

Can I paste Base64 without the data:image prefix?

No. The input must be a full data URL beginning with data:image/png, data:image/jpeg, data:image/webp or data:image/gif followed by ;base64,. Add the matching prefix in front of raw Base64 text before decoding.

Why is my decoded image saved as PNG instead of JPG?

After decoding, the image is drawn on a canvas and exported as PNG regardless of the source type. This keeps the decoded pixels lossless, but metadata from the original file is not carried over.

Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

What are the input limits?

Images are limited to 32 megapixels and 16,000 pixels per side. Most operations accept one source; supported batch operations produce a ZIP archive.
