## Overview (en)

URL encoder decoder percent-encodes text for use in a URL or decodes percent-encoded text back into readable characters. Component mode encodes reserved characters such as / ? & and =, which suits query values. Full URL mode leaves the URL structure intact. Malformed percent sequences produce an error.

## Supported tasks (en)

Encode or decode a URL component.

## Steps (en)

1. Type or paste your source, or load an example.
2. Change the basic settings or open Advanced mode to fine-tune the result.
3. Review and copy or download your result. Pause Live results to run manually. Sources or individual settings above 20,000 characters require an explicit run.

## Settings

- Decode (en; key: decode; type: checkbox)
- URL encoding mode (en; key: mode; type: select): Component [en], Full URL [en]

## Limitations (en)

Text operations generally accept up to 2,000,000 characters. Individual parsers, generators and formulas apply additional limits shown by their controls.

## Example input

```text
Hello ToolCabana
```

## Privacy and connections (en)

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

## Questions (en)

### What is the difference between Component and Full URL encoding?

Component mode also encodes characters with special URL meaning, such as / ? # & and =, so the text can sit safely inside one parameter. Full URL mode keeps those characters and encodes only what is not allowed in a URL.

### How do I decode a percent-encoded URL?

Turn on Decode, choose the mode that matches how the text was encoded, and run the tool. Sequences like %20 become a space and multi-byte sequences become their UTF-8 characters.

### Why do I get a malformed percent-encoded text error?

Decoding fails when a percent sign is not followed by two hex digits or the bytes do not form valid UTF-8. Check for stray percent signs or a truncated sequence.

### Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

### What are the input limits?

Text operations generally accept up to 2,000,000 characters. Individual parsers, generators and formulas apply additional limits shown by their controls.
