## Overview (en)

The Date difference calculator takes a start date and an end date and returns the gap as years, months and days, plus total days and total weeks to two decimals. By default the end date is not added as an extra day; switch on Count both start and end dates to include it. Times and time zones are not used.

## Questions (en)

### How many days are between two dates?

Enter both dates and read Total days. It counts calendar days from the start date to the end date without counting the end date. To count both dates, as many itineraries and leave forms do, turn on Count both start and end dates, which adds one day.

### Can the start date be later than the end date?

Yes. The calculator then returns a negative span. If the inclusive option is on with reversed dates, it subtracts one day instead of adding one, so the count stays consistent in either direction.

### How are total weeks calculated?

Total weeks is the total day count divided by 7, shown with two decimals. A 30-day span shows 4.29 weeks. The years, months and days line is a separate calendar breakdown, not derived from weeks.
