### How is the tip calculated?

The tip is the bill before tip × tip percentage / 100, rounded half-up to the nearest cent. For a 100.00 bill at 15%, the tip is 15.00 and the total is 115.00. The tip percentage can be anywhere from 0 to 100%.

### What happens when the bill does not split evenly?

The total is split in whole cents. When it does not divide evenly, some people pay one cent more. For example, a 100.00 total split three ways shows two people paying 33.33 and one person paying 33.34, which adds back to the exact total.

### Should I enter the bill before or after tax?

The field is the bill before tip, and the tip is calculated on whatever amount you enter. Enter the pre-tax subtotal if you prefer to tip on that, or the after-tax total if you want the tip to cover tax too.
