## Overview (en)

The customer acquisition cost calculator divides total acquisition spending by the number of customers acquired to give CAC, the average cost of winning one customer. You decide which costs to include, such as advertising or sales spending, and enter the total. The number of acquired customers must be at least 1, and the defaults give a CAC of 100.

## Questions (en)

### How do you calculate customer acquisition cost?

CAC equals total acquisition spending divided by the number of new customers acquired in the same period. For example, 10,000 spent to acquire 100 customers gives a CAC of 100.

### What costs should I include in CAC?

The calculator uses whatever total you enter, so it does not decide which expenses count. Use the same cost categories and time period each time you calculate CAC so results stay comparable.

### Why must acquired customers be at least one?

Customers is the divisor in the CAC formula, so zero would make the result undefined. The field accepts values from 1 to 1,000,000,000.
