## Overview (en)

The Calorie BMR calculator takes weight in kilograms, height in centimeters, age and a sex coefficient and returns estimated resting energy and daily maintenance calories. It applies the adult Mifflin–St Jeor equation, then multiplies by an activity factor between 1 and 2.5. It is a screening estimate for adults 18 to 100, excluding pregnancy and breastfeeding.

## Supported tasks (en)

Uses the adult Mifflin–St Jeor resting-energy formula and your activity multiplier. Excludes children, pregnancy and breastfeeding.

## Steps (en)

1. Adjust the values; an initial result is calculated from the defaults.
2. Change the basic settings or open Advanced mode to fine-tune the result.
3. Review and copy or download your result. Pause Live results to run manually. Sources or individual settings above 20,000 characters require an explicit run.

## Settings

- Weight (kg) (en; key: weight; type: number); minimum: 30; maximum: 300
- Height (cm) (en; key: height; type: number); minimum: 100; maximum: 250
- Age (years) (en; key: age; type: number); minimum: 18; maximum: 100
- Sex coefficient (en; key: sex; type: select): male (+5) [en], female (-161) [en]
- Activity multiplier (en; key: activity; type: number); minimum: 1; maximum: 2.5

## Limitations (en)

Use finite numbers, valid dates and the ranges shown by each control. Invalid values produce an error without a downloadable result.

## Privacy and connections (en)

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

## Questions (en)

### What formula does the BMR calculator use?

It uses Mifflin–St Jeor: 10 × weight in kg + 6.25 × height in cm − 5 × age, plus 5 for the male coefficient or minus 161 for the female coefficient. For a 30-year-old male at 70 kg and 175 cm, that is about 1,649 kcal/day.

### How are maintenance calories calculated from BMR?

Maintenance is the resting estimate multiplied by the activity multiplier you enter, from 1 to 2.5. The default of 1.2 represents little activity. The multiplier adds uncertainty, so treat the maintenance figure as a rough estimate rather than a diet prescription.

### Who should not use this calorie calculator?

It is limited to adults aged 18 to 100 and excludes children, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Weight must be 30 to 300 kg and height 100 to 250 cm. The result is a screening estimate, not personalized nutrition advice.

### Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

### What are the input limits?

Use finite numbers, valid dates and the ranges shown by each control. Invalid values produce an error without a downloadable result.
