## Overview (en)

Signature to transparent PNG turns a scanned or photographed signature into a PNG with a transparent background. Pixels whose darkest color channel is at or above a brightness threshold, 235 by default, become transparent, and an edge softness setting fades nearby tones. A brush can erase leftover marks or restore removed strokes.

### How do I make a signature background transparent?

Upload a scan or photo of the signature on white paper and run the tool. Light paper pixels become transparent while the ink stays visible. Download the PNG to place it on documents or images.

### What if gray paper or shadows remain after removing the background?

Lower the Remove pixels brighter than value so darker paper tones are also cleared, or raise Edge softness to fade the transition. Leftover spots can be painted out with the Erase brush.

### Does it change the color of the signature ink?

No. Ink pixels keep their original color, and only their transparency changes. Pixels within the softness range of the threshold become partly transparent, which smooths the edges of pen strokes.
