Tool ID: url-parser. Requested language: mt. Description language: en. Complete guide translation: no; untranslated sections use English.

## Overview (en)

URL parser breaks an absolute URL into its scheme, hostname, port, path, username, query parameters and fragment, shown as JSON. Repeated query keys are kept as separate name and value pairs, and percent-encoded parameters are decoded. If the URL contains a password, the output only says one is present.

## Supported tasks (en)

Inspect a URL’s path, query parameters and fragment.

## Steps (en)

1. Type or paste your source, or load an example.
2. Results update automatically as you edit.
3. Review and copy or download your result. Pause Live results to run manually. Sources or individual settings above 20,000 characters require an explicit run.

## Settings

No additional settings.

## Limitations (en)

Text operations generally accept up to 2,000,000 characters. Individual parsers, generators and formulas apply additional limits shown by their controls.

## Example input

```text
https://example.com/path?name=hello&name=world#section
```

## Privacy and connections (en)

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

## Questions (en)

### How do I extract query parameters from a URL?

Paste the full URL and run the parser. Each query parameter is listed as a name and value pair, decoded from percent encoding, in the order it appears.

### What happens with duplicate query parameters in a URL?

Each occurrence is kept as its own pair, so name=hello&name=world produces two entries for name rather than one merged value.

### Can the URL parser handle relative URLs?

No. The input must be an absolute URL with a scheme, such as https://example.com/path. A relative path returns an error asking for an absolute URL.

### Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

### What are the input limits?

Text operations generally accept up to 2,000,000 characters. Individual parsers, generators and formulas apply additional limits shown by their controls.
