The barcode generator turns a value of up to 150 characters into a CODE128, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC, CODE39 or ITF-14 barcode, rendered with JsBarcode and downloadable as an SVG file. You can set the bar height from 20 to 500 pixels and choose whether the human-readable value is printed below the bars.

### Why do I get an invalid check digit error for EAN-13 or UPC?

Retail formats such as EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC and ITF-14 have fixed lengths and a check digit. When the value has the wrong length or its check digit does not match, the tool reports that the value or check digit is invalid for that format.

### Which barcode format should I use for letters and numbers?

CODE128 is the default and encodes letters, digits and symbols, and CODE39 also accepts letters. EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC and ITF-14 are numeric formats used for retail products and shipping cartons.

### Can I download the barcode as a vector file?

Yes. The barcode is built as an SVG with a 20-pixel margin and saved as barcode.svg, which scales cleanly for print layouts. Turn off Display value below barcode if you want the bars without the text line.
