Tool ID: zip-maker. Requested language: fo. Description language: en. Complete guide translation: no; untranslated sections use English.

## Overview (en)

The ZIP creator packages several selected files into a single archive.zip using DEFLATE compression at level 6. Filenames are cleaned for safety, and if two files would share a name inside the archive, the later one is prefixed with its position number. A progress bar shows archive creation, and your original files are not changed.

## Privacy and connections (en)

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

## Questions (en)

### What happens if two files have the same name in the ZIP?

The ZIP creator keeps both. When a filename has already been used, the next file with that name is stored with its position in the list added in front, such as 3-photo.jpg.

### Will zipping my files make them much smaller?

It depends on the content. Files are compressed with DEFLATE at level 6, which shrinks text, CSV and similar files, while JPEG, MP4 and other already-compressed formats usually change little.

### How many files can I add to a ZIP archive?

There is no fixed file count in the code, but each file can be up to 50 MB and the combined input is limited to 100 MB. The tool stops with a message if the total exceeds that.
