## Overview (en)

The Prime factorization calculator takes a whole number from 2 to 1,000,000,000,000 and returns its prime factors in a table with each prime and its exponent. For example, 360 is listed as 2 to the power 3, 3 to the power 2 and 5. Factors are found by trial division up to the square root of the remaining number.

## Supported tasks (en)

Factor bounded integers and show prime powers.

## Steps (en)

1. Enter the requested values in the settings panel.
2. Set positive integer.
3. Run prime factorization calculator, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

## Settings

- Positive integer (en; key: integer; type: number); minimum: 2; maximum: 1000000000000

## Limitations (en)

Local bounded calculations. Numeric inputs must be finite and within the visible ranges. Lists and tables have operation-specific limits. Models, estimates and supplied rates must be checked against your intended use.

## Privacy and connections (en)

## Questions (en)

### What is the prime factorization of 360?

360 = 2³ × 3² × 5. The calculator lists this as three rows: prime 2 with exponent 3, prime 3 with exponent 2 and prime 5 with exponent 1. 360 is also the default example value.

### How can I tell if a number is prime?

Enter it in the calculator. If the result has a single row showing the number itself with exponent 1, the number is prime. Any other result lists its smaller prime factors.

### What is the largest number I can factor?

Inputs from 2 up to 1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion) are accepted. The calculator divides by 2 and then by odd numbers up to the square root of whatever remains, and any remainder above 1 is listed as a final prime.

### What are the input limits?

Local bounded calculations. Numeric inputs must be finite and within the visible ranges. Lists and tables have operation-specific limits. Models, estimates and supplied rates must be checked against your intended use.
