Tool ID: jsonpath-explorer. Requested language: ff. Description language: en. Complete guide translation: no; untranslated sections use English.

## Overview (en)

The JSONPath explorer runs a JSONPath query against pasted JSON and returns every matching value as a JSON array you can copy or download as matches.json. It supports structural selectors such as $.users[*].name, wildcards and array indexes. Filter and script expressions are disabled, so queries containing ?, ( or @ are rejected, and queries are limited to 500 characters.

## Supported tasks (en)

Run queries against local JSON and export matching values.

## Steps (en)

1. Paste the source into the input editor, or load the built-in example.
2. Set jsonpath query.
3. Run jsonpath explorer, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

## Settings

- JSONPath query (en; key: query; type: text)

## Limitations (en)

CSV/XLSX inputs are capped at 10 MB each, 200 columns and 20,000 rows; joined output is capped at 20,000 rows. JSONPath script/filter evaluation is disabled. Other operations apply their visible controls and text limits.

## Example input

```text
{"users":[{"name":"Alex"},{"name":"Sam"}]}
```

## Privacy and connections (en)

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

## Questions (en)

### How do I select all values of a field with JSONPath?

Start at the root with $, then walk the structure. For {"users":[{"name":"Alex"},{"name":"Sam"}]}, the query $.users[*].name returns ["Alex", "Sam"]. The [*] wildcard selects every element of the array.

### Why are JSONPath filter expressions not working?

Filter and script expressions such as [?(@.age > 30)] are disabled, and any query containing ?, ( or @ returns an error. Use structural paths instead, or narrow the JSON first and then select the fields you need.

### What does the explorer return when nothing matches?

Results are always returned as a JSON array. When the path does not match anything, the output is an empty array. The input must be valid JSON, otherwise parsing fails before the query runs.

### Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

### What are the input limits?

CSV/XLSX inputs are capped at 10 MB each, 200 columns and 20,000 rows; joined output is capped at 20,000 rows. JSONPath script/filter evaluation is disabled. Other operations apply their visible controls and text limits.
