URL Slug Generator turns a title into a lowercase, URL-friendly slug, replacing spaces and punctuation with hyphens or underscores and removing accents. Non-Latin letters are kept by default, so titles in scripts like Japanese still produce a slug; turn the option off for ASCII-only output. You can also cap the slug length without leaving a trailing separator.

### How do I make an ASCII-only slug without non-Latin characters?

Turn off Keep non-Latin characters. Only a to z and 0 to 9 then remain, with accents removed first so Café becomes cafe. If nothing supported is left, as with an all-Japanese title, the tool shows an error instead of an empty slug.

### Can I limit the length of a URL slug?

Yes. Set Maximum length in Advanced mode to any value up to 2000 characters, or 0 for no limit. The slug is cut at that length and any separator left dangling at the end is removed.

### Can I use underscores instead of hyphens in a slug?

Yes. The Separator setting offers Hyphen, the default, or Underscore. Whichever you choose replaces every run of spaces and punctuation, and separators at the start or end of the slug are removed.
