Tool ID: ocr-pdf. Requested language: fa. Description language: en. Complete guide translation: no; untranslated sections use English.

## Overview (en)

PDF OCR runs text recognition on the pages of a scanned PDF and builds a new searchable PDF named searchable.pdf. Choose one of 11 OCR languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Arabic and Hindi, and set the page rendering resolution between 72 and 300 DPI. The OCR language data is downloaded, and the recognized text can be inaccurate.

## Supported tasks (en)

Make scanned PDF pages searchable with OCR.

1. Choose a source file. If the tool accepts multiple files, arrange them in the order you want.
2. Adjust the basic settings, then open Advanced mode for export and fine-tuning options. Custom settings stay active when the panel is closed.
3. Run pdf ocr, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

## Questions (en)

### How do I make a scanned PDF searchable?

Load the scanned PDF, pick the language of its text and run the tool. Each page is rendered, recognized with Tesseract OCR and rebuilt with a text layer, so you can search and select text in searchable.pdf.

### Will OCR keep the form fields and signatures in my PDF?

No. The output rebuilds the scanned pages, so interactive form fields and signatures are not retained. Keep the original file and verify the recognized text, since OCR results can be inaccurate.

### Which DPI should I use for OCR on a scanned PDF?

The default is 144 DPI, and you can choose from 72 to 300. A higher setting renders small print in more detail before recognition, which can help with fine text but takes longer.

### Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

### What are the input limits?

PDF input is bounded to 20 MB per file. Page rendering is capped at 200 selected pages; page-edit output is bounded to 500 pages.
