## Overview (en)

The UTM builder adds utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content parameters to a URL you paste and returns the complete tracking link. Empty fields are left out, existing query parameters are kept, and values are URL-encoded automatically. The address must be an absolute HTTP or HTTPS URL without embedded credentials.

### Do I have to fill in every UTM field?

No. Only fields that contain a value are added to the link, so you can leave Campaign term and Campaign content blank. Source, medium and campaign start with example values that you should replace with your own.

### What happens if my URL already has UTM tags?

Any UTM field you fill in replaces an existing parameter with the same name, while other query parameters on the URL stay as they are. Fields you leave empty do not remove tags that are already there.

### Why does the UTM builder reject my link?

The input must be a full HTTP or HTTPS address such as https://example.com/page. Relative paths, other schemes like ftp: and URLs that contain a username or password are rejected with an error.
