GPX route viewer reads a GPX file and plots its track as a line, alongside the total distance in kilometers, the recorded elevation gain in meters and the number of points. Choose the GPX file and run the viewer. It draws the track points as a line scaled to fit the image, with no map tiles loaded, and lets you download route.svg.

### How is elevation gain calculated from a GPX file?

It adds up every rise between consecutive points that both have an elevation value. The values are not smoothed, so noisy GPS elevation can increase the total.

### How many points can a GPX file have?

The file needs between 2 and 20,000 valid track or route points. Files containing DOCTYPE or entity declarations are rejected.
