Tool ID: audio-fade-editor. Requested language: cu. Description language: en. Complete guide translation: no; untranslated sections use English.

## Overview (en)

The audio fade editor applies a fade-in at the start and a fade-out at the end of an audio file, each up to 60 seconds long, and exports a 16-bit WAV. The fade-out position is calculated from the source duration you enter, so set that length in seconds. Video files work too; only their audio track is kept.

## Supported tasks (en)

Applies fade-in and fade-out using the duration you enter. Check the actual source duration to place the fade-out correctly.

## Steps (en)

1. Choose a source file. If the tool accepts multiple files, arrange them in the order you want.
2. Set fade-in seconds, fade-out seconds, source duration (seconds; for fade-out position).
3. Run audio fade editor, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

## Settings

- Fade-in seconds (en; key: fadeIn; type: number); minimum: 0; maximum: 60
- Fade-out seconds (en; key: fadeOut; type: number); minimum: 0; maximum: 60
- Source duration (seconds; for fade-out position) (en; key: duration; type: number); minimum: 0.01; maximum: 36000

## Limitations (en)

Up to 20 media files, 50 MB each and 100 MB combined; 50 MB output and a 180-second conversion timeout. Subtitle input accepts at most 5,000 blocks. Required codecs and browser memory affect support.

## Example input

```text
1
00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:03,000
Hello, world.
2
00:00:04,000 --> 00:00:06,000
A little easier.
```

## Privacy and connections (en)

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

## Questions (en)

### Why does my fade-out start in the wrong place?

The fade-out begins at the source duration you enter minus the fade-out length. If that duration does not match the real file, the fade lands early or late. Check the actual length in a media player and enter it in seconds.

### Can I add only a fade-in to an audio file?

Yes. Set Fade-out seconds to 0 and only the fade-in is applied; the same works the other way round. Together, the two fades cannot be longer than the source duration you entered.

### What format does the audio fade editor export?

It writes faded.wav using 16-bit PCM. The output must stay under 50 MB and processing stops after 180 seconds, so very long recordings may need to be trimmed first.

### Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

### What are the input limits?

Up to 20 media files, 50 MB each and 100 MB combined; 50 MB output and a 180-second conversion timeout. Subtitle input accepts at most 5,000 blocks. Required codecs and browser memory affect support.
