Tool ID: electricity-cost-calculator. Requested language: av. Description language: en. Complete guide translation: no; untranslated sections use English.

## Overview (en)

The electricity cost calculator estimates how much energy an appliance uses and what it costs, from its power in watts, hours of use per day, number of days and your price per kWh. It returns total energy in kilowatt-hours and the cost in the same currency as your tariff. Hours per day can range from 0 to 24.

## Supported tasks (en)

Estimate appliance costs from wattage, runtime and user-entered tariff.

## Steps (en)

1. Enter the requested values in the settings panel.
2. Set appliance power (w), hours per day, days, price per kwh.
3. Run electricity cost calculator, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

## Settings

- Appliance power (W) (en; key: watts; type: number); minimum: 0; maximum: 100000000
- Hours per day (en; key: hours; type: number); minimum: 0; maximum: 24
- Days (en; key: days; type: number); minimum: 0; maximum: 36600
- Price per kWh (en; key: tariff; type: number); minimum: 0; maximum: 1000000000000

## Limitations (en)

Local bounded calculations. Numeric inputs must be finite and within the visible ranges. Lists and tables have operation-specific limits. Models, estimates and supplied rates must be checked against your intended use.

## Questions (en)

### How do I calculate kWh from watts?

Divide watts by 1000, then multiply by hours per day and number of days. A 1000 W appliance used 2 hours a day for 30 days uses 60 kWh, and at 0.2 per kWh that costs 12.

### What price per kWh should I enter?

Use the energy rate from your electricity bill or tariff. The calculator applies one flat rate, so it does not model time-of-use pricing, standing charges or taxes unless you fold them into that rate.

### Why is my estimate different from my electricity bill?

The calculation assumes the appliance draws its full rated wattage for every hour you enter. Devices that cycle on and off or run below their rating use less, so a measured wattage gives a closer figure.

### Where is my input processed?

### What are the input limits?
