Email mailto generator
How to use Email mailto generator
The email mailto generator builds a mailto: link from a recipient, optional CC and BCC addresses, a subject and a message body. Each value is percent-encoded, with spaces written as %20 rather than plus signs, so email apps show the text correctly. Line breaks are allowed in the body but rejected in the recipient, CC, BCC and subject fields.
- Paste the source into the input editor, or load the built-in example.
- Adjust the basic settings, then open Advanced mode for export and fine-tuning options. Custom settings stay active when the panel is closed.
- Run email mailto generator, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

Frequently asked questions
How do I add a subject and body to a mailto link?
Enter the subject in the Subject setting and type the message in the main input. The generator adds them as subject and body parameters after the address, encoding spaces, line breaks and punctuation.
Can a mailto link include CC and BCC recipients?
Yes. CC and BCC are optional settings that are added as cc and bcc parameters only when filled in. Like the recipient and subject, they cannot contain line breaks, which the tool reports as an error.
Why are spaces encoded as %20 instead of a plus sign?
Standard form encoding turns spaces into plus signs, which some email programs display literally. The generator replaces them with %20, so the subject and body show normal spaces when the link opens a new message.
Where is my input processed?
This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.
What are the input limits?
Text operations generally accept up to 2,000,000 characters. Individual parsers, generators and formulas apply additional limits shown by their controls.
