How to use Speed converter
The Speed converter takes a speed in one unit and returns it in another. It supports meters per second, kilometers per hour, miles per hour, knots and feet per second. One mile per hour is 0.44704 m/s, one knot is 1,852 meters per hour, and you can control significant digits and number notation in the advanced settings.
- Adjust the values; an initial result is calculated from the defaults.
- Change the basic settings or open Advanced mode to fine-tune the result.
- Review and copy or download your result. Pause Live results to run manually. Sources or individual settings above 20,000 characters require an explicit run.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert km/h to mph?
Pick km/h as the From unit and mph as the To unit. The converter treats 1 km/h as 1/3.6 m/s and 1 mph as 0.44704 m/s, so 100 km/h comes out at about 62.137 mph.
How fast is one knot in km/h?
A knot is one nautical mile per hour, and the converter uses 1,852 meters for that mile. One knot is therefore exactly 1.852 km/h, or about 1.15078 mph.
How do I convert meters per second to feet per second?
Choose m/s as the From unit and ft/s as the To unit. A foot is 0.3048 meters, so 1 m/s equals about 3.28084 ft/s. You can raise the significant digits up to 15 if you need more precision.
Where is my input processed?
This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.
What are the input limits?
Use finite numbers, valid dates and the ranges shown by each control. Invalid values produce an error without a downloadable result.
