How to use CSV to JSON
CSV to JSON parses CSV text into a formatted JSON array. With the header option on, each row becomes an object keyed by the column names; with it off, each row becomes an array of values. You can pick a comma, semicolon, tab or pipe delimiter and optionally convert numeric and true or false cells into JSON types.
- Type or paste your source, or load an example.
- Change the basic settings or open Advanced mode to fine-tune the result.
- Review and copy or download your result. Pause Live results to run manually. Sources or individual settings above 20,000 characters require an explicit run.

Frequently asked questions
Why are my numbers strings after converting CSV to JSON?
By default every cell stays text. Turn on Infer numbers and booleans to turn cells that look like numbers or true and false into JSON numbers and booleans.
What happens if my CSV has duplicate or empty column names?
When the first row is used as headers, an empty or repeated column name stops the conversion with an error, so values are not merged or renamed. Rename the columns or turn off the header row.
Does CSV to JSON handle line breaks inside quoted cells?
Yes. Line breaks inside quoted cells stay part of that cell value. Fully empty lines are skipped, and malformed rows are reported with their row number.
Where is my input processed?
This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.
What are the input limits?
Text operations generally accept up to 2,000,000 characters. Individual parsers, generators and formulas apply additional limits shown by their controls.
