Sida loo isticmaalo Sensitive text redactor

Sensitive text redactor replaces email addresses, supported phone number formats, card numbers that pass a checksum, and IPv4 addresses with labels like [EMAIL], [PHONE], [CARD] and [IP]. Add names or other phrases, one per line, to redact them as [CUSTOM]. A table lists each redaction's type and position, and the cleaned text downloads as redacted.txt.

  1. Paste the source into the input editor, or load the built-in example.
  2. Set additional names / phrases to redact (one per line).
  3. Run sensitive text redactor, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

How do I redact names from a document?

Names are not detected automatically. Enter each name or phrase on its own line in the additional phrases field; every occurrence is replaced with [CUSTOM], regardless of letter case. Add spelling variants and nicknames as separate lines.

Which phone number formats are redacted?

The pattern covers a three-digit area code, a three-digit group and a four-digit group separated by spaces, dots or hyphens, with an optional country code such as +1, for example 555-123-4567 or (555) 123-4567. Other formats may be missed.

Why was a 16-digit number not redacted as a card?

Card detection only redacts digit sequences that pass the Luhn checksum used by payment cards, which avoids flagging many order or tracking numbers. A mistyped card number that fails the check stays visible, so review the output.
