The Time duration calculator takes a start and end clock time in HH:MM or HH:MM:SS form and returns the span in hours, minutes and seconds, plus total hours to four decimals and total seconds. For shifts that cross midnight, turn on End is next day to add 24 hours. No dates or time zones are involved.

How do I calculate hours worked between two times?
Enter the start and end times, such as 09:00 and 17:30, and read the result: 8 h 30 min 0 sec, or 8.5000 total hours. Subtract unpaid breaks yourself, since the tool measures one continuous span.
How do I calculate a shift that goes past midnight?
Turn on End is next day. The calculator then adds 24 hours to the clock span, so 22:00 to 06:00 gives 8 hours. Without it, an end time earlier than the start returns an error.
Can I include seconds in the times?
Yes. Both fields accept HH:MM or HH:MM:SS. The result shows hours, minutes and seconds, total seconds, and total hours with four decimal places, which is handy for timesheets that use decimal hours.
