How to use Remove accents
Remove Accents strips diacritical marks from letters, turning é into e, ñ into n and ü into u while leaving the rest of the text unchanged. It decomposes characters with Unicode normalization and deletes the combining marks. An optional compatibility setting also expands ligatures and full-width characters. Letters such as ø and ł are not transliterated.

Frequently asked questions
Why do ø and ł stay the same after removing accents?
Those letters are separate characters, not a base letter plus a combining accent, so there is no mark to remove. The tool does not transliterate them; replace them manually or with a find-and-replace step if you need o or l.
How do I convert ligatures like fi into normal letters?
Enable Also normalize compatibility characters in Advanced mode. It uses NFKD normalization, which expands ligatures such as fi into f and i and converts full-width letters and digits to their standard forms before accents are removed.
Does removing accents work for languages other than French or Spanish?
It works for any text that uses combining diacritics, including Vietnamese, Czech and Polish letters such as ś or ž. Characters that have no decomposition, such as Chinese characters, pass through unchanged.
