How to use CSV delimiter converter
CSV delimiter converter rewrites CSV data with a different separator, for example from commas to semicolons. The source delimiter can be detected automatically or set to comma, semicolon, tab or pipe. Output options include CRLF or LF line endings, quoting every cell and adding a UTF-8 BOM.
- Type or paste your source, or load an example.
- Change the basic settings or open Advanced mode to fine-tune the result.
- Review and copy or download your result. Pause Live results to run manually. Sources or individual settings above 20,000 characters require an explicit run.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a comma CSV to a semicolon CSV?
Leave Source delimiter on auto or choose a comma, set Output delimiter to a semicolon and run the tool. Quoted fields are re-quoted as needed for the new separator.
Can I convert CSV to tab-separated values?
Yes. Choose the tab character as the Output delimiter. Pipe, comma and semicolon are also available, and you can set CRLF or LF line endings.
Why does Excel show odd characters in my converted CSV?
Turn on Add UTF-8 BOM in Advanced mode. The byte order mark helps spreadsheet apps detect UTF-8 so accented letters display correctly.
Where is my input processed?
This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.
What are the input limits?
Text operations generally accept up to 2,000,000 characters. Individual parsers, generators and formulas apply additional limits shown by their controls.
