Como usar PNG to ICO

PNG to ICO turns an image into a single-size Windows icon file. Choose 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 or 256 pixels; the image is scaled to fit a square canvas without cropping, and the result is saved as icon.ico containing one PNG-encoded image. Any image your browser can open works as the source, not only PNG.

  1. Choose a source file. If the tool accepts multiple files, arrange them in the order you want.
  2. Set icon size.
  3. Run png to ico, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

Preguntas frecuentes

Does PNG to ICO create multiple icon sizes in one file?

No. Each run produces an ICO holding one image at the size you select, from 16 to 256 pixels. Run it again for another size, or use the favicon generator when you need a full set of website icons.

What happens if my image is not square?

The image is scaled down to fit inside the square icon without stretching or cropping. The leftover space at the sides, or at the top and bottom, stays transparent.

Will the ICO file work in older Windows programs?

The icon inside the ICO is stored as PNG data, which the tool notes is supported by modern systems. Test the file in the program where you plan to use it, especially if that software is old.

Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

What are the input limits?

Images are limited to 32 megapixels and 16,000 pixels per side. Most operations accept one source; supported batch operations produce a ZIP archive.
