Color vision preview
Simulate selected color vision differences; preview is approximate.
How to use Color vision preview
Color vision preview applies an approximate simulation of protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia or grayscale to an image you upload and returns the result as a PNG. Each pixel's red, green and blue values are transformed with a fixed 3x3 matrix. Use it to spot charts, maps or interface states that rely on color alone; individual perception varies.
- Choose a source file. If the tool accepts multiple files, arrange them in the order you want.
- Set approximate simulation.
- Run color vision preview, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

Limits and processing
Images use the existing 32-megapixel canvas bound. Up to 100 source images are allowed where supported. Pasted HTML is bounded to 200,000 characters; Mermaid diagrams to 20,000 characters and 300 lines. SVG and PNG generation require a browser.
Frequently asked questions
Which types of color blindness can I simulate?
Protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia, which affect red, green and blue perception respectively, plus a grayscale view for checking designs without hue. Milder forms such as anomalous trichromacy are not offered as separate options.
How accurate is the color blindness simulation?
It is an approximation that applies a simple RGB matrix directly to pixel values, so results can differ from more detailed models and from what any individual sees. Treat it as a design check, not a diagnostic or conformance test.
Does the color vision preview keep image transparency?
Yes. Only the red, green and blue channels are transformed and the alpha channel is left unchanged, so transparent areas stay transparent in the downloaded result.png. Images must fit within the 32-megapixel canvas limit.
Where is my input processed?
This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.
