Remove photo date stamp erases a date that a camera printed into a photo. Mark the stamp with a brush or rectangle coordinates, and the tool rebuilds those pixels from the surrounding area using local boundary-based reconstruction. The repaired image is saved as repaired.png, and the source must be 2 megapixels or smaller.

How do I remove the date from an old photo?

Open the photo or a scan of it, then select the date stamp with the brush or by typing a rectangle around it. Run the tool, download repaired.png and keep your original file.

Why can't I process my high-resolution scan?

Reconstruction runs on images of up to 2 megapixels, so resize a larger scan first. The selection around the date must also be smaller than half of the image.

Does removing the date stamp change the rest of my photo?

No. Only pixels inside the selection are recalculated. Everything outside keeps its original values, though the output is saved as a new PNG file rather than in the original format.
