Video contact sheet maker
Extract timestamped frames into a thumbnail sheet.
How to use Video contact sheet maker
The video contact sheet maker samples frames evenly from a chosen part of a video and tiles them into a single PNG grid. Set the start time, the sampling duration, 1 to 8 columns and rows, and a thumbnail width from 80 to 640 pixels. Thumbnails are separated by white 4-pixel padding, and timestamp labels are not embedded.
- Choose a source file. If the tool accepts multiple files, arrange them in the order you want.
- Adjust the basic settings, then open Advanced mode for export and fine-tuning options. Custom settings stay active when the panel is closed.
- Run video contact sheet maker, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.
What this tool supports
Samples a selected interval into a tiled PNG. Longer source duration does not need to be processed if the interval is bounded. Timestamp labels are not embedded.

Limits and processing
Up to 20 media files, 50 MB each and 100 MB combined; 50 MB output and a 180-second conversion timeout. Subtitle input accepts at most 5,000 blocks. Required codecs and browser memory affect support.
Example source
1 00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:03,000 Hello, world. 2 00:00:04,000 --> 00:00:06,000 A little easier.
Frequently asked questions
How are frames chosen for the video contact sheet?
The tool samples at a rate of columns times rows divided by the sampling duration. A 4 by 3 grid over 10 seconds takes 12 frames, about 1.2 per second, starting at your Start time.
Can I make a contact sheet from only part of a long video?
Yes. Set Start to where sampling should begin and Sampling duration to the length of the section, up to 3600 seconds. Only that interval needs to be processed, not the whole file.
Does the contact sheet show timestamps on each thumbnail?
No. Frames are tiled without text labels. You can work out a thumbnail's time from the start time plus its position in the grid multiplied by the sampling interval, which is the duration divided by the number of tiles.
Where is my input processed?
This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.
What are the input limits?
Up to 20 media files, 50 MB each and 100 MB combined; 50 MB output and a 180-second conversion timeout. Subtitle input accepts at most 5,000 blocks. Required codecs and browser memory affect support.
