How to use Timesheet calculator

Timesheet calculator totals paid hours from lines of date, clock-in time, clock-out time and break minutes, such as 2026-10-01,09:00,17:00,30. When clock-out is earlier than clock-in, the shift is treated as overnight. Enter an hourly rate to get gross pay alongside total hours, or leave it at 0 for time only. Each row shows its paid hours.

  1. Paste the source into the input editor, or load the built-in example.
  2. Set hourly rate (0 = time only).
  3. Run timesheet calculator, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

Frequently asked questions

How do I enter an overnight shift in the timesheet calculator?

Type the shift as it happened, for example 2026-10-02,22:00,06:00,30. Because 06:00 is earlier than 22:00, the end moves to the next day, giving 8 hours minus a 30-minute break, or 7.5 paid hours.

Are break minutes required on each timesheet line?

No. The fourth value is optional and counts as 0 when left out. If a break is negative or longer than the shift, the calculator stops with an error asking for a break that fits within the shift.

Does the timesheet calculator handle daylight saving time changes?

No. Durations are wall-clock differences between the times you enter, and daylight-saving transitions are not inferred. For a shift that spans a clock change, adjust the times or break by the hour gained or lost.

Where is my input processed?
