How to use HAR file viewer

The HAR file viewer opens a HAR file exported from browser developer tools and lists each request's method, URL, status code and time in milliseconds. It can also export a cleaned reviewed.har with authorization headers, cookies, query strings and request and response bodies removed. Logs with up to 10,000 entries are supported.

  1. Choose a source file. If the tool accepts multiple files, arrange them in the order you want.
  2. Set strip credentials and request/response bodies in export.
  3. Run har file viewer, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

What this tool supports

Shows original request metadata locally. Export can remove selected credentials, query strings and bodies; paths and other fields can still contain private data. Inspect the export before sharing.

Limits and processing

Up to 200 files, 20 MB each and 100 MB combined. PDFs are limited to 500 pages, contact sheets to 100 pages, and bookmark trees to 1,000 entries and 20 nesting levels. Individual operations apply smaller output limits.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove sensitive data from a HAR file?

Keep Strip credentials and request/response bodies in export turned on. The export removes Authorization, Proxy-Authorization, Cookie and X-API-Key request headers, Set-Cookie response headers, all cookies, posted data, response body text, query strings and any username or password in URLs.

Is a stripped HAR file completely safe to share?

Not necessarily. URL paths, remaining headers and other fields can still contain personal or account data. The on-screen table also shows the original, unstripped URLs. Open the exported reviewed.har and check it before sending it to anyone.

How do I create a HAR file to view?

In your browser's developer tools, open the Network panel, reproduce the requests, then use the option to save or export all requests as HAR. Upload that file here. It must be a valid HAR log with an entries array.

Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.
