Typing Speed Test times you while you type a practice passage and reports correct words per minute and positional accuracy as you go. You can replace the practice text with up to 5000 characters and set a session from 10 to 300 seconds. Pasting is blocked in the typing box, and WPM counts five correctly typed graphemes as one word.

How is WPM calculated in this typing test?
Only correctly typed characters count. The test divides correct graphemes by five to get words, then divides by the elapsed minutes. Wrong characters lower your accuracy and add nothing to your speed.
How is typing accuracy measured?
Accuracy compares each character you typed with the character at the same position in the practice text. A skipped or extra character shifts later positions, so the following characters can count as wrong until the text lines up again.
Can I use my own text for the typing test?
Yes. Replace the practice text before starting a new session, up to 5,000 characters, and choose a duration from 10 to 300 seconds. Accented letters and emoji are compared as whole graphemes, and results reset when you reload the page.
