Jak používat Subtitle validator

The subtitle validator checks SRT and WebVTT cues and marks each one OK or lists its problems: missing or malformed timing lines, end times before start times, overlaps with the previous cue, cues shorter than a minimum duration, empty text and lines over a character limit. Defaults are 42 characters per line and 0.5 seconds.

  1. Paste the source into the input editor, or load the built-in example.
  2. Adjust the basic settings, then open Advanced mode for export and fine-tuning options. Custom settings stay active when the panel is closed.
  3. Run subtitle validator, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

Časté dotazy

What maximum characters per line does the subtitle validator use?

The check defaults to 42 characters, and you can set any limit from 1 to 500. Characters are counted separately for each line of a cue, so a two-line cue passes when both lines are within the limit.

How does the validator detect overlapping subtitles?

Cues are compared in file order. If a cue starts before the previous cue ends, it is flagged as overlapping. The report table lists cue number, start, end and the review note for every cue.

Does the subtitle validator fix the errors it finds?

No. It only reports problems so you can correct them in your editor. Once the file passes, you can shift timings or convert between SRT and VTT with the subtitle timing shifter.

Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

What are the input limits?

Up to 20 media files, 50 MB each and 100 MB combined; 50 MB output and a 180-second conversion timeout. Subtitle input accepts at most 5,000 blocks. Required codecs and browser memory affect support.
