Preguntes freqüents

What is the difference between markup and margin?

Markup is profit as a percentage of cost, while margin is profit as a percentage of selling price. A 30% markup on a cost of 70 gives a price of 91, but the margin is only about 23.08%.

How do I calculate selling price from cost and markup?

Multiply the cost by one plus the markup divided by 100. The calculator does this for you: enter the unit cost and markup percentage, and it returns the selling price, profit per unit and margin.

Can markup be more than 100 percent?

Yes. The markup field accepts values from 0 to 100,000 percent. A 100% markup doubles the cost, giving a 50% margin. Margin always stays below 100% for any positive cost.
