Cut list optimizer
Suggest one-dimensional cuts with kerf and waste; heuristic optimum is not guaranteed.
Com utilitzar Cut list optimizer
The Cut list optimizer takes a list of piece lengths and a stock length and suggests how to cut the pieces from stock lengths, accounting for saw kerf between cuts. It uses a first-fit decreasing heuristic, so the plan is not guaranteed optimal. Each row shows the pieces, used length including kerf, and remaining offcut.
- Paste the source into the input editor, or load the built-in example.
- Set stock length, cut kerf (same unit).
- Run cut list optimizer, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

Preguntes freqüents
How does the cut list optimizer arrange cuts?
It sorts pieces from longest to shortest and places each one on the first stock length with enough room, opening a new stock length when none fits. This first-fit decreasing method is a heuristic, so another arrangement may sometimes use fewer stock lengths.
What units should I use for the cut list?
Any unit, as long as pieces, stock length and kerf all use the same one. The defaults use millimeters: 2,400 stock with a 3 kerf. Enter piece lengths separated by spaces, commas or new lines, up to 500 pieces.
Does the cut list include saw kerf and end trim?
Kerf is added between pieces on the same stock length. End trim and the final separating cut are not included, so leave some margin in the remaining length or reduce the stock length to allow for squaring the ends.
Where is my input processed?
This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.
What are the input limits?
Local bounded calculations. Numeric inputs must be finite and within the visible ranges. Lists and tables have operation-specific limits. Models, estimates and supplied rates must be checked against your intended use.
