Як карыстацца Length converter

The Length converter takes a number and a pair of units and returns the equivalent length, plus a one-unit factor line such as 1 in = 2.54 cm. It covers meters, kilometers, centimeters, millimeters, micrometers, nanometers, inches, feet, yards, miles and nautical miles, and lets you set 1 to 15 significant digits with grouped, plain or scientific display.

  1. Adjust the values; an initial result is calculated from the defaults.
  2. Change the basic settings or open Advanced mode to fine-tune the result.
  3. Review and copy or download your result. Pause Live results to run manually. Sources or individual settings above 20,000 characters require an explicit run.

Частыя пытанні

How many centimeters are in an inch?

Exactly 2.54. The converter defines an inch as 0.0254 meters, a foot as 0.3048 meters and a yard as 0.9144 meters, which are the internationally agreed exact values, so the factor shown is not rounded from a measurement.

How long is a nautical mile compared with a regular mile?

A nautical mile is defined here as 1,852 meters, while a statute mile is 1,609.344 meters. Converting 1 nautical mile to miles therefore gives about 1.150779 miles at the default 12 significant digits.

Can I show very small lengths like nanometers in scientific notation?

Yes. Open the advanced settings and set Number display to Scientific notation. The result is then written with an exponent, using the number of significant digits you chose between 1 and 15, which keeps micrometer and nanometer values readable.

Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

What are the input limits?

Use finite numbers, valid dates and the ranges shown by each control. Invalid values produce an error without a downloadable result.
