How to use Upscale image

Upscale image enlarges a picture by 2x, 3x or 4x using the browser's image resampling, with a choice of high, medium or low resampling quality. It increases pixel dimensions only and does not reconstruct missing detail with an AI model. The enlarged output must stay within 16,000 pixels per side and 32 megapixels.

  1. Choose a source file. If the tool accepts multiple files, arrange them in the order you want.
  2. Adjust the basic settings, then open Advanced mode for export and fine-tuning options. Custom settings stay active when the panel is closed.
  3. Run upscale image, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

Limits and processing

Images are limited to 32 megapixels and 16,000 pixels per side. Most operations accept one source; supported batch operations produce a ZIP archive.

Frequently asked questions

Does upscale image use AI to add detail?

No. It resamples the existing pixels with the browser's built-in smoothing, so edges get smoother but no new detail is invented. Treat it as a way to enlarge dimensions, not as photo restoration.

Why do I get an error when upscaling a large image 4x?

The enlarged output cannot exceed 16,000 pixels per side or 32 megapixels. A 3000 by 2000 pixel photo at 4x would be 12000 by 8000, or 96 megapixels, so choose a smaller scale or resize first.

What is the difference between high, medium and low resampling?

They map to the browser's image smoothing quality levels. High usually gives the smoothest result, while the exact algorithm behind each level depends on the browser, so compare outputs if edge quality matters.

Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.
