How to use Flatten PDF

Flatten PDF turns the interactive form fields in a PDF into ordinary page content. Filled values and field appearances stay visible but can no longer be edited as form fields. Other annotations and attachments are not removed, and the result downloads as flattened.pdf with its page count and size shown.

  1. Choose a source file. If the tool accepts multiple files, arrange them in the order you want.
  2. Check the source format before running the operation.
  3. Run flatten pdf, review the output, then use the available copy or download controls.

Limits and processing

PDF input is bounded to 20 MB per file. Page rendering is capped at 200 selected pages; page-edit output is bounded to 500 pages.

Frequently asked questions

Why should I flatten a filled PDF form before sending it?

Flattening fixes the current field values into the page so recipients cannot change them in a form-aware viewer. It is useful for submitting a completed form as a final copy, while you keep the editable original.

Does flattening a PDF remove comments and attachments?

No. Only interactive form fields are converted into page appearances. Other annotations, such as comments, and any embedded attachments are left in the file.

Can I fill and flatten a PDF form in one step?

This tool only flattens. Fill the fields first with a form-filling tool, download that file, then run it through Flatten PDF to lock the values in place.

Where is my input processed?

This operation processes its source in your browser. Copy and download are explicit actions; source input is not saved in an account or history.

What are the input limits?

PDF input is bounded to 20 MB per file. Page rendering is capped at 200 selected pages; page-edit output is bounded to 500 pages.
